Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, as well as the proprietor of the independently liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. She emigrated to Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and received an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. She was the first student who was not from the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. Being a conservative syndicated blog following her graduation, she went on to become a voice of the Huffington Post. In part, her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna gained fame in 2003 when she decided to stand for a non-partisan position for the California recall election in order to succeed then Governor Davis. In addition to this she was the leader of the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. Forbes listed her the most powerful woman in the field of media in 2009. The newspaper was ranked as in the 12th spot on Forbes' listing. The Guardian also included her on the top 100 list of media in 2009. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. Then she was appointed the head of the media division at AOL. The group included several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos, a journalist and management consultant. They were very close to her father. But it was her relationship with her mother who has shaped her. From her early years, she showed leadership abilities which are still widely admired. At the age of 16, she moved over in her home in United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debate group. Being the third woman president and first foreigner, she served as the head of Cambridge Union. In 1972, she earned an education in Economics. Her professional career as a journalist and television host started after her graduation. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She began to write books with his guidance in editing.
