Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a Greek-American author, syndicated journalist and a businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been an actor, journalist, philanthropist and author for more than 10 years. Her role also includes being the founder of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Her birthplace was in Greece then moved to England at the age of sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in economics. She was the first person non-UK to become the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Her popularity as a conservative journalist was further consolidated when she completed her studies. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice-portal that provided an honest assessment of the current politics. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna's popularity began in 2003, when she declared herself an independent candidate for the California recall vote in order to replace then-Governor Davis. In addition, she also spearheaded a Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. Forbes placed her at 12 on its list for the Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. This included many AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli the other, both of whom are journalist and management consultants. While she was close to her father, her connection to her mom shaped the course of her entire life. She was a leader from the beginning. When she moved to England, she was 16, to pursue her education and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. As a student, she joined Cambridge Union's debate societies in the college where she eventually became its first female and foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master in Economics. Following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic as well as a TV host. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
